HM turbine flow meters use the mechanical power of the flow through to a "pinwheel" (rotor shaft). The rotor shaft rotates on bearings and when the fluid moves faster, the rotor rotates proportionally faster. Each blade on the rotor is magnetically detected by a pickup transducer. The magnetic pickup transducer processes the pulse signal to a frequency, digital and/or analog output. As an option, these HM turbine flow meters can determine the forward and reverse flow directions.
